Services for Joe Irvin Gentry, 70, of Bullard are scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 9, 2012, at Flint Church of the Nazarene, 110919 County Road 174, Bul-lard.
Interment will be in the Bullard Memorial Cemetery under direction of Boren-Conner Funeral Home and Covenant Cremations.
Mr. Gentry died May 6, 2012, in Tyler.
He was born Nov. 2, 1941, in Tyler. He retired from the Air Force, was a pipeline welder and a retired U.S. Postal Service postmaster. He was a Tyler area Realtor, a deputy chief of the Cherokee Nation, served on the board of Judicial Chiefs of the Cherokee Nation and was past-member of the Bullard Chamber of Commerce board of directors.
He was preceded by daughter, Cynthia Everett; and brother, Richard Gentry.
Survivors include his wife, Judith Gentry, Bullard; sister, Sonia Ewatha; sons, W. Lee Gentry, Salem Mass., Gregory Everett, Frankston; daughters, Kathy and Troy Bennett, Flint, Susan and Mel Mills, Frankston, Nancy Gentry and Michael Leblanc, Salem, Mass., Michelle Gentry and Scott Thompson, Hewitt N.J.; 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Family will receive friends 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
